The Michigan Mentoring Advocacy Network is a coalition of organizations and individuals interested in closing the mentoring gap by supporting and strengthening mentoring in Michigan. This grassroots network of mentoring programs and supporters educates local, state and federal policymakers on the issues related to mentoring. Subscribers to the network will receive periodic updates on mentoring public policy issues and when appropriate will be asked to take action on these issues. In the United States today, 17.6 million young people between the ages of 10 and 18 - nearly half the youth population - want or need mentors to help them reach their full potential. Yet, according to a 2003 poll sponsored by AOL Time Warner Foundation, just 2.5 million young people are in formal mentoring relationships. This leaves 15 million Americans still in need of mentors. The mission of the Michigan Mentoring Advocacy Network is to fullfill this need in Michigan. Previous Advocacy Campaigns from Michigan Mentoring Advocacy Network
